Nutrition Corner
Tamari is a gluten free alternative to soy sauce because it is made completely from fermented soybeans whereas soy sauce contains a combination of fermented soybeans and wheat. Tamari is high in sodium so swap this for a low salt soy sauce if watching salt intake or on low salt diets like the DASH diet. Otherwise, Tamari is excellent for marinades since the majority of the sodium will be discarded after the meat has finished marinating. Tamari is also 70% protein containing 2 grams per tablespoon.
Oranges are rich in vitamin C, potassium and fiber.
Toasted sesame oil is rich in healthy fats.
