Fig preserves, goat cheese, thyme, crushed pecans and hot honey all wrapped in flaky puff pastry create a harmonious blend of spicy sweetness. A perfect holiday appetizer. Yum!
Ingredients
2 tbsp fig preserves
1/2 cup crushed pecans
1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
1/8 tsp fresh thyme
Drizzle of hot honey, plus more for serving
1 sheet puff pastry, rolled out to a 9 X 13 inch sheet (this works just as well with gluten free puff pastry, too!)
Preparation
Prep the Ingredients
Preheat oven to 400°F
Prep all the ingredients before removing the pastry
Thaw the pastry according to package instructions and roll out, if needed, once all filling ingredients are ready
Add Filling to Pastry
Working quickly, spread fig preserves along the left side of the pastry
Sprinkle crumbled goat cheese, crushed pecans and thyme over the preserves
Drizzle hot honey evenly over the filling ingredients
Roll and Slice
Roll the pastry from left to right tucking the filling into the pastry as you go
Slice the pastry into 12 equal portions, about 1 inch apart
Place Slices into Muffin Pan
Place each slice into a pre-greased muffin pan and bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until pastry is flaky and starting to brown
Serve as an appetizer with an extra drizzle of hot honey and a few sprigs of thyme. You may want to make extra because these are going to be a hit!
